Disperse dyes are a class of non-ionic, synthetic dyes primarily used for coloring hydrophobic (water-repelling) synthetic fibers. Their most significant application is in dyeing polyester, but they are also widely used for acetate, nylon, acrylic, and certain plastics (like polycarbonate and polystyrene).
